Cake ordering:
Orders are accepted in the order that they are requested. I keep a waiting list for any weeks I am booked and for if any reason i have a cancellation I go to the first person on the list, and so on.
I can physical only make a certain number of cakes per week so book your cake as early as possible to ensure your spot . In 2012 i am trying even harder to ensure that the hobby i love does not overtake or interfere with my family and personal life so I have set hours of operation and availability as any business should have.
HOURS OF OPERATION AND AVAILABILITY
Sunday: I DO NOT answer
or return calls. This is my "day off" and I spend it with my family. I
do answer emails late at night once my son goes to bed
Monday:
Meetings to discuss cakes can be scheduled after 3 pm-6 pm. Please
respect me and my family by not calling after 7. I have a 4 year old
and he goes to bed at 8 so he can be well rested for a day of preschool
Tuesday: Meetings to discuss cakes can be scheduled after noon and
until 5. If you need a earlier time it could possible be worked out. No
calls again after 7
Wednesday:
This is the day I start prep work on my weekend cake orders. No calls
before 10am and after 7 pm
Thursday: i may not get to the
phone, or even have them turned on. this is my massive work day. I am
working from the time I get up well into the night. Email is the best
way to make sure you get to me. I will answer them late at night once
my cake work is done. It is really peaceful to answer emails at
midnight but not very nice to return a voice-mail that late. No calls
after 8 pm. Cake pickups scheduled 3-8
Friday: Cake pick ups and deliveries. No meetings
to be scheduled. Email once again is best. No calls after 8 pm (unless
you are a scheduled late pickup and need directions :) ) Cake pickups Scheduled 3-8
Saturday: No cake pickups as of 2-8-12..reserved for wedding cake deliveries. No calls or voice mails will be returned or answered. I am
so pooped from the previous 2 days that Saturday night I literally get
lazy in my lazy boy and simply relax. No calls please.
GIFT CERTIFICATES:
Gift certificates DO have a expiration date. It will be listed on the certificate itself. It is your responsibility to use it before it expires, no extensions will be offered. A order using a gift certificate needs to be booked the same as any other cake and WILL NOT be worked into a booked week just because YOU have waited to long to use it.
EMAILS:
Allow 5-7 days for a response to any emails. Sometimes I am caught up and you may get one immediately but at the end of every week i get really far behind while I am working on weekend cakes. I will get back with you but please understand I am one person baking, decorating, answering emails and answering phone calls. It is to much at a lot of times.
PICKUPS
As of 2-8-12 I DO NOT have pickups on Saturdays or Sundays. all pickups need to be scheduled Thursday 3-8 and Friday 3-8. I love my hobby and really love being a part of everyone's special occasions but my personal life is being taken over severly. I need my weekends to spend with my family.
WEDDING CAKES
All wedding cakes MUST be paid in full at least 2 weeks prior to the event. These cakes are extremely detailed and time consuming, they can not be converted easily to fit another event if they are not picked up.
